At the age of 83, Brenda went to be with her Lord on October 5, 2026.

Brenda was born in Washington, North Carolina, on July 23, 1943. Her father was William E. Jones, and her mother was Sadie L. Jones. She graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in elementary education and library science. She married Donald Dormstetter in Washington, North Carolina, on June 25, 1966.

Brenda taught elementary education in Springfield, Virginia, for a few years and then began a mother to five beautiful children. She was very active in her church, All Saints Anglican Church. She served a term as Senior Warden. Her love was serving as an intercessor in SOMA.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Donald; daughter Christina O'Keefe (Ed); daughter Debbie Wilson (Roger); daughter Kimberly Recknor (Eric); son William Dormstetter (Bridget); son Mark Dormstetter (Jess); and eight grandchildren, Kevin, Kenton, Karen, Ian, Erin, Nathan, Aaron, and Seth, and one great-grandson, Kenton. Brenda is also survived by two sisters, Barbara J. Smith (Charlie) and Ann Fields (Keith) in Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sadie Jones, and brothers William Richard and Gary Jones.

There will be a service of praise that will take place at her daughter's house in Stafford, Virginia, on November 14th.
