Obituary

Brenda Joyce Severa, 76, passed away April 30, 2026, in Gainesville, FL. She was born June 11, 1949 in Lena, WI to the late Barbara (Brabender) and Hilbert Seefeldt. She married Kenneth "Ken" J. Severa on June 20, 1970 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Grover, WI. Brenda was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Green Bay, WI and Open Bible Lutheran Church in The Villages, FL.

Brenda graduated from Lena High School in 1967, having met her future husband, Ken, through a mutual friend in 1965. After getting married, they moved to Green Bay. She was employed by Schneider National from 1970 until 1987. In 1983 she earned a degree in Accounting from UW Green Bay and earned her CPA in 1984. Brenda went on to work for Town & Country Electric (now Faith Technologies), Appleton WI, as their Controller from 1987 until 2001. She worked at Suburban Electric in Appleton, WI as their Chief Financial Officer from 2001 until retirement in 2012.

Brenda and Ken had a cottage at Harbor Village Resort in Door County, WI from 1986 until present, where they met many life-long friends, shared drinks, games, campfires, and supper club dinners over the summer months.

Once retired, Brenda and Ken became snowbirds and purchased a second home in The Villages, Florida. She loved their place in Florida and often referred to it as "paradise". She was extremely active there, participating in multiple craft, sewing, and quilting clubs. She and many of her sewing and quilting friends in The Villages made blankets for the homeless and quilts for veterans. In her free time, she sewed, embroidered, and quilted, among other crafts, selling her works at countless craft shows throughout The Villages and in Door County. She also looked forward to her time with family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Ken, of 55 years, three children: Brian (Amy) Severa, Eric (Penny) Severa, Sarah (Scott) Moore; eight grandchildren: Adam and Kyle Severa, William, Carson and McKenzie Moore, Dylan (Kim) Breitbach, Emily (Melissa) Breitbach, Jessica (Josh) Breitbach; three great-grandchildren: Logan Breitbach, Remi and Rowan Pluemer-Breitbach; two sisters: Elaine (Ken) Marshall, Barbara-Jean Sandberg; four brothers: Marshall (Kris) Seefeldt, Daryl (Susan) Seefeldt; Wayne (Michelle) Seefeldt, Joel Seefeldt, and many nieces and nephews.Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, two infant sisters, her mother-in-law, Teresa Severa, two brothers-in-law, one aunt and one uncle.

Friends and family will gather at St Mark Lutheran Church, 2066 Lawrence Dr, DePere, WI on Wednesday May 27, 2026 from 9am-11am with a memorial service to follow, with Pastor John Parlow officiating. Burial will occur at St John's Cemetery in Grover, WI.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at University of Florida Shands Hospital, especially Kerry McKnight and the Silver Team in the ICU for their compassionate care.
