Brendon Smith was born July 25, 1962, in Paterson NJ; and died peacefully at home in Winter Park FL, August 16, 2023, from stage 4 lung cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents Don and Arlene Smith and youngest brother Alan Smith. He is survived by his wife Jeannette Smith, his ex-wife Paula Savoie, his daughter Christina Myers (husband Dan and granddaughters Amelia and Charlotte), and his daughter Julianna Hernandez (husband Phil and grandsons Gaberial and Nickolas) and his son, Brendon Andrew Smith (and granddaughter Cecilia); sister Brenda Velez, brother Donald Smith, sister Belinda Smith, sister Charlene Kraft, sister and brother-in-law Kathy Smith and Joe Saylor, brother Brian Smith, five nieces, five nephews and their families, and sisters-in-law Heidi Garfield and Elizabeth Abbott.
He lived the first 18 years of his life in Paterson NJ; moving to Central Florida in 1980 where he met and married his first wife Paula and had three children, Chrissy, Juli, and Andy. After living a short time in Fitzgerald GA, he became separated and divorced. He then returned to Central Florida in 2000 where he met and married his second wife Jeannette. He loved 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and country music. He enjoyed watching comedy, romance, historical fiction, action, and horror movies. He was a big fan of the New York Giants, New York Mets, Atlanta Braves, and pro-wrestling. He enjoyed playing softball for Goldenrod Baptist Church in the Greater Orlando Baptist Association softball league. He absolutely loved decorating for Christmas and celebrating the birth of our Lord! He was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of working for Wald Disney World for almost 10 years until having to go on disability due to strokes brought on by CADASIL disorder. He was hard working, loved God and loved his family even though he had difficulty expressing it. He will be deeply missed.
Funeral service and reception will be Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 11:00am, at St. Michael's Episcopal Church 2499 N. Westmoreland Dr., Orlando, FL 32804.
