Bruce Gordon MacIntosh, 69, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away on December 24, 2024, at his home. He was born in Ontario, Oregon, on March 28, 1955 to the late Stanton MacIntosh and Harriett Lee MacIntosh.
In addition to his parents, Bruce is preceded in death by his infant son, Bruce Gordon MacIntosh Jr.
He leaves behind his daughter, Tara Van Patten and her husband Michael of Nevada, along with three grandchildren, brother, Stanton J. Jr., and a sister Jane. He spent his last five years with his devoted partner, Barbaralee Thompson, now of Sebring, FL, and longtime friend Robert Wagy of Fruita, CO.
He attended schools in Idaho. Bruce later served 20 plus years in the U. S. Navy. Upon leaving the military service, Bruce studied and earned his bachelor's degree in marine biology. Later in life, Bruce continued his education which enabled him to achieve the title of Environmental Utilities Inspector. He worked with the construction of pipelines in several areas across the country. He continued this work until he retired to Punta Gorda, Florida in 2020. Bruce enjoyed spending time at his Moose Lodge 2121 in Port Charlotte, where he became a Legionnaire member. He served loyally until it just became too difficult for him. Bruce will be missed by his many friends throughout the country.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
