Bruce Norman Thistle 70 of Nokomis, FL and previously Windham, ME passed away peacefully on 7/29/2023 surrounded by his loving family. Bruce was the loving husband to Bonnie Thistle whom he married on February 10, 1973. The couple had recently celebrated their 50 th wedding anniversary. Along with his wife, Bruce leaves behind his Daughter Tatum Thistle, his son Sergeant First Class Tucker Thistle and his wife Lindsey Thistle. Grand Children Giovanni Ruotolo, Brady, and Falynn Thistle. Brother Phillip Barter and wife Mary and their sons Jason and Matthew Barter and their families. Bruce was predeceased by his parents Norman and Ruth Thistle of Windham, ME.
Bruce was a banker by trade working for many years in Finance for both TD Bank as well as Gorham Savings making his way to Senior VP of Commercial lending. He gave many new businesses the opportunity to help Portland, Me and surrounding areas grow to what they are today.
Bruce was extremely Talented musician, was recently a member of The Mcarthy Band and enjoyed playing at local restaurants throughout Southwest, Fl. A self-taught guitarist who loved writing songs and poetry, he would frequently write special poems for his friends and family to commemorate special occasions.
Bruce was a Jack of all trades and Master of none. He could fix anything around the house or your vehicle. He loved gardening and created many beautiful backyard oases. He loved fishing on Sebago Lake and knew all the best "secret spots".
He was always quick with a joke and loved teasing those he held dear. Bruce will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
