Obituary

Bryan William Hopkinson, a truly one-of-a-kind, passed away in Venice, FL, on January 16th, 2025, after a courageous battle with respiratory disease. He was born on December 29th, 1956, in Lawrence, MA to the late James and Gena (Butko) Hopkinson. He was raised in Methuen growing up in the Valley and educated in the Methuen school system. Most recently, he called North Andover, MA, home.

Bryan is survived by his beloved daughter, Jennifer Moseff, and two granddaughters, Nina and Mila, who reside in Sarasota, FL. He leaves behind his son, Brendan Hopkinson, his fiancée Deb Cuthbertson, and their son Jack of Raymond, NH. He is also survived by his sister Nancy Lynch of Salem, NH, his brother Tommy of Lawrence, MA, and many cherished nieces and nephews, including Brittney Bowley, Brent Davis, Brooke McDonald, Chris Hopkinson, Matt Hopkinson, Melanie Hopkinson as well as their spouses. Bryan is also survived by his best friend, Linda Figueroa, whose support and friendship meant so much to him. He was predeceased by his brother Jim Hopkinson.

For many years, Bryan owned and operated Transport Equipment Cleaning, proudly serving numerous customers, including Waste Management and Coca-Cola. In his younger days, he found joy in riding his motorcycle with dear friends such as Larry Lafreniere, Ed Costello, and Joey Cafiso. Bryan especially cherished his annual trips to Bike Week in Daytona, FL, which became a beloved tradition.

Bryan was a devoted family man who cherished the time spent with his daughter and granddaughters. He loved playing 45s with Nina, taking her on endless runs for Boba, acting as Mila's human jungle bars making her laugh with his playful antics. He was an adoring father to Brendan, always ready for paintball, go-karting, or any adventure that came their way. Bryan was a kid at heart himself as Brendan and his friends learned, he embraced the joy of being a kid.

Known affectionately as "Andor" and "Stretch," Bryan was a gentle giant, always willing to lend a helping hand to friends and strangers alike. His warmth and generosity touched the lives of many, and those fortunate enough to know him will fondly remember the laughter and joy he brought into their lives.

Bryan's loss is immeasurable, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his memory live on through the countless stories and moments shared by family and friends.

A private burial was held. Donations in his memory can be made to St. Jude Chidren's Research Hospital.
