C. Gregory Bishop, 77, of Ocala, FL, passed away after a period of declining health on July 29, 2025.

Greg was born in Washington D.C. on February 9, 1948 to Helen Marie (née Sipe) and G. Wayne Bishop. He grew-up in Maryland with his parents and siblings, Karen and Kathy. He was a proud alumnus of the University of Maryland College Park and showed his Terrapin Pride at every opportunity. He later moved to Massachusetts, married Mary Ann Bodnaruk in 1981, and became a father with the birth of his daughter, Alison. He spent 30 years as an information technology manager for New England Life Insurance in Boston, which later became MetLife. Upon his retirement, he and Mary Ann moved to Ocala, FL where he enjoyed his remaining years on golf courses as both a player and a ranger, smoking cigars, cheering for his beloved Terps, indulging in blue crabs shipped from the Chesapeake Bay, and enjoying new friendships.

Greg was known by many nicknames, GB, Deacon, Turkey, among others. He was quick to laugh and quick to make friends. He loved it when people joined him in repartee, which was usually accompanied by a wry smile. He was immensely proud of his daughter, Alison, her husband, Mark, and their children, Claire and Naomi.

In addition to his wife, daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughters, Greg is survived by nieces and nephews in Florida, Delaware, and New England. He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters.
