He was predeceased by his parents, one brother Earl Gillette, one sister Caroline Reichardt and his wife Maxine Gillette, yet his legacy is carried on by the many lives he touched and the family he cherished. He is survived by his devoted wife, Carol Gillette, two loving sisters, Bonnie (Chuck) Milliken and Patti (Jim) Rulli, his children, Steph Rouan, Stacey Greco, Scott (Cindy) Gillette, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to his life. Carl was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren, each of whom he adored and inspired with his warmth and wisdom.

A man of humble beginnings, Carl's journey to becoming a revered family practice doctor began with his exceptional academic prowess. He graduated from Miami of Ohio and continued on to Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine to earn his medical degree that set the stage for a career defined by service and excellence.

Carl's professional life was spent in Niles, Ohio, where he tirelessly served his community as a family practice doctor until his retirement. His work extended beyond the confines of his practice; he was a visionary who built an assisted living facility, a nursing home, and a large clinic that housed laboratory and radiology services. His contributions to healthcare were monumental, yet it was his personal touch and genuine care for each patient that left an indelible mark on everyone he met.
