Obituary

Leesburg, FL. – Carl Nunziata, 79 of The Villages, FL, passed away on November 28, 2023.  He was born on November 27, 1944, in Brooklyn, NY to the late Anna and Armando Nunziata.  He married in 1968 and moved to NJ where he lived and raised his twin sons.  In 2014 Carl retired and moved to The Villages, Florida where he spent his time traveling, playing golf and bocce.

Carl was larger than life.  He loved his family and included all their friends in his love.  He was often called gruff and old school, but he had a large heart and was always ready to help.  His sons' friends looked to him as a second father.  Carl was an animal lover and had many pets over the years.

Carl was a proud Army veteran, attended New York School of Printing and graduated from Setab Computer Programming Institute in New York. Carl pursued a successful career as an Owner/Operator Marine Equipment Surveyor where his work took him throughout the Eastern Seaboard and California.

Carl loved sports. In his free time, he loved cheering on the New York Giants and was an avid Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Mets fan. Carl also coached his sons' Little League baseball and basketball teams.

Carl is survived by his loving spouse of 55 years, Dolores Marmorato Nunziata, his twin sons Anthony Nunziata and Christopher Nunziata, his grandsons Nicholas Nunziata and Carlo Nunziata, his granddaughters Corina Nunziata and Isabella Nunziata, daughters-in-law Lorraine Nunziata and Antoinette Nunziata, and sister Nancy Rose Nunziata.  He is also survived by his loving Labradoodle Peaches who was his constant companion.

A funeral mass will be held at St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wildwood, FL, on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 11am.  A Celebration of Life will follow at Colony Cottage Recreation Center in The Villages, FL at 1pm on the same day.

Carl Nunziata will be dearly missed by all who knew him.  His love for his family, his dedication to his career, and his passion for his hobbies and pets left a lasting impact on those around him.  May he rest in peace.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
