IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carl Alexander
Puckett
November 1, 1940 – March 10, 2026
CARL PUCKETT
Carl A. Puckett was born on November 1,1940, in Oklahoma City, OK. He was the 7th of 8 children to the late Clyde Puckett, Sr. and Opal June (Riggs) Puckett. He was preceded in death by his siblings Clyde Puckett Jr., Betty Jean Wilson, Charles L Puckett, Luada Delana, Rita June Crawford and Eddie Rae Puckett.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Gail, sister Nadine Fleming and two children: Allen Wayne Puckett, Kingston OK, and Betty Jean Oney, Zephyrhills FL, four grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
After serving four years active duty in The Marine Corps, he attended two years at Colorado School of Mines for Civil Engineering following in his oldest brother, Clyde Jr’s career, but Carl switched to Electrical Engineering which suited him better, earning his degree from Oklahoma State University.
After a highly successful career, Carl retired from Eastman Kodak Company in 1991at the young age of 50. He and Gail loved to travel extensively to experience new locations, cultures, and historical sites. They visited all 50 States and celebrated life at each stop. Family trips at Thanksgiving to Texas and often Oklahoma & New York were “a given.”
Along with travel, Carl’s favorite hobbies were sailing, tennis and golf. He served as Commodore of Pultneyville Yacht Club in NYS. In retirement, he pursued tennis and golf, joining Twin Isles Country Club in 1993. As an accomplished tennis player, his team went to the 1997 Nationals in CA. As a golfer, he was fortunate to hit two hole-in-ones!
On March 10, 2026, he took his last trip to meet his Lord and Savior; his soul will rest in heaven.
To those who were fortunate to have known him, he leaves behind amazing memories, life lessons and enduring values. He also left behind a lot of tools that his family has no idea how to use. He loved us, and we knew it.
Although he is no longer with us, his exceptional values and spirit will live on through the many people whose lives he impacted. He will be missed dearly.
A Mass is scheduled at Sacred Heart Church, 211 W Charlotte Ave, Punta Gorda, FL on June 18 at 11:00 AM with a Celebration of Life following next door to the church at The Parish Hall. A Military Service followed by burial at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota FL for family only is scheduled for 9:30AM on June 19.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to Tidewell Hospice www.support.tidewellfoundation.org (Make a Gift) in memory of Carl Puckett.
