Carol Ann Baldwin
Bounds
Sep 28, 1943 — Oct 4, 2026
Ocala, FL
Born: Sept. 28, 1943
Passed: Oct. 4, 2026
Carol Ann Baldwin Bounds, a child of Analee and Virgil Baldwin, both deceased, with a sister, Linda Jo of Coulee Dam, WA, and a ½ brother, Bud Baldwin, and ½ sister, Dorine, both deceased, was born in Lewiston, Idaho.
Carol Ann graduated from Lewiston Senior High School in 1961 and graduated from the University of Idaho, Moscow, Idaho, and received a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1964/5 in just three years.
Carol Ann dated her high school sweetheart, James T. Bounds, from her sophomore year in high school to her wedding to him on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14, 1964, at the First Christian Church in Lewiston, Idaho.
Carol Ann's marriage to Jim Bounds, who was commissioned as an Officer in the US Air Force upon graduation in 1964 from the University of Idaho, took them to Middletown, PA. with his first assignment.
Carol Ann applied for a First Grade position by mail and was given the position on arrival in Sept. 1964
Carol Ann gave birth to her first daughter, LeAnn Margaret, at Hershey, PA, in her second year of teaching in 1966.
A new assignment for them, now Captain Bounds, was to Ogden, Utah, Hill Air Force Base. In Layton, Utah, Carol Ann taught First Grade for 2 1/2 years and gave birth to her second daughter, Pamela Michell, in Ogden, Utah. While still teaching, Carol Ann gave birth to her only son, James Clancey, in Ogden, Utah.
Not being of the Mormon Faith, Carol Ann told her husband they needed to move and find a Church Home. As was the case, Jim had opened a second Sales Lot in Nampa, Idaho, and developed a mobile home park and moved the family into a double/double wide and a mobile home in the park in Nampa, Idaho. Carol Ann, again, applied for a teaching position at Lakeview Elementary and taught migrant kids for 3½ years.
In 1970, Jim and Carol Ann sold their dealerships and park and bought a 40-acre farm in the outskirts of Nampa. Jim took a Consulting Job with a mobile home manufacturing company and was assigned to Portage, Wisc., to address problems and concerns. Jim liked the Wisc. Banking system, and he and Carol Ann, three kids, and a Boxer dog named Sophie moved the family to Windsor, Wisc. Once again, Carol Ann applied for a teaching position at Sun Prairie, Wisc. She was hired and taught there for 4½ years.
While teaching there, Carol Ann took a year off and earned her Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wisconsin, Madison Main Campus.
Carol Ann was recruited to assist and supervise Student Teachers while still earning her MS Degree
Every Spring Break, Carol Ann requested a trip to Florida, Jim's home State. Carol Ann loved the green foliage and the flowering plants. Carol Ann suggested that they consider moving to Florida while the kids were still pre-teenage so they could have a good Junior and High School experience, and these Wisconsin winters were not fun anymore.
As was the case, Jim always listened to and accepted The Carol Ann's thoughts and suggestions.
The congregation and Pastor Henry Speight welcomed our family with open arms and helped us raise our three children in every sense, a Godly way. Carol Ann and Jim became leaders in every sense with youth sponsorship, teachers, fellowship organizers, Building Chairwoman, and Board Chairman and Elder.
Carol Ann again, applied for a middle school teaching position at Ft. King Middle School in Ocala and was given the position. Carol Ann assured the three kids she would not move to high school with them as they were stuck with her in Middle School.
As the last of the three kids graduated from Forest High School, Carol Ann was now able to apply for a high school teaching position, which she readily got. She taught English and Reading for a couple of years and then applied for the Curriculum Coordinator position and was appointed. She served that position well, and when the new Forest High School was completed, she made the move. A Vice Principal position became available and at age 60, Carol Ann went back to school and earned a degree as an Educational Specialist, and that position was given to her. Life in Florida at our home of 47 years at 4430 E. Fort King Street has been the center for graduations, baptisms, new births, marriages, travels, motor homes, a yacht, cruises, and the grand reward of 6 Grand Kids. We are So Blessed, as Carol Ann put it in every Christmas Letter she wrote, God is so Good. Carol Ann's departure is very pungent for all the family, so exemplified by her Faith and Life Well Lived. GOD Rest Her Soul upon the Heavenly Host. Baldwin Brothers handled Carol Ann's Cremation Remains. A Private Family Remembrance will be held Thanksgiving Day at her family home in Ocala, FL.
