Carol died suddenly at her home in Port Orange Florida on January 9, 2026. Born in New Haven, Ct. on June 7, 1949, Carol lived in North Branford, Ct. with her parents and five sisters. She had a career working in retail which continued until retirement. She had a dream of living in Florida and moved to Port Orange 35 years ago.
Carol leaves behind her sisters, Mary Lou Bonanzino (Tony) of Spokane, Wa., Rosemarie Pogmore (Charlie) of Lebanon, Ct., Diane Cremin (Bill) of Wallingford, Ct.and many nieces and nephews, She is predeceased by her parents, Thomas Caputo and Shirley Butler Caputo, sisters, Shirley Ann Secondino (Joe) of Guilford, Ct. and Sherry Generoso (David) of Guilford, Ct.
Carol loved Pomeranians which she has had over the past 20 years and leaves behind her adored Ricky and Bear. She was a longtime fan of Nascar and attended many races at Daytona Speedway. She was an active member of the American Legion Post 361 and loved volunteering at their various events and hanging out with friends. During the last two years, Carol overcame several medical issues and was able to continue living independently with the help and support of many. The family is grateful to her friends at Briarwood and all those at the American Legion who supported, helped, and cheered her on. The family is also deeply grateful to Richard for taking her dogs into his home, and a special thank you to Beverly who was there for her in her best and most difficult times. You are truly an Angel.
