Carol Ann Compton, 76, of Grand Island, Florida, formerly of Mechanicsburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving children.

Born on July 23, 1949, in Columbus, Ohio, Carol was the daughter of Jack W. and Kathryn L. (Stevens) Compton. She graduated from Mechanicsburg High School with the Class of 1967.

Carol found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was a devoted fan of Ohio State football and the Cincinnati Reds. She had a remarkable talent for quilting and treasured the many friendships she formed through her quilting group. The beautiful quilts she created reflected both her creativity and her generous heart. Carol also had a special love for her cats, who brought her endless comfort and companionship.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, aides, and staff of Solaris Healthcare of Tavares and VITAS Hospice for the compassionate care and kindness they provided to Carol during her final days.

In accordance with Carol's wishes, she will be cremated.

Carol is lovingly remembered by her children, Marcia Marsh (John Deere) and Greg (Stephanie) McNamara; her brothers, Dale (Bonni) Compton and Jackie (Barbie) Compton; her sister-in-law, Vicki Compton; her grandchildren, Lucas Marsh, Samantha Marsh, Bailey McNamara, Jessica McNamara, and Lily McNamara; and her nephews and niece, Mike Compton, Rich Compton, Leo Compton, Chris (Nicole) Compton, Andy (Kristy) Stathopoulos, Wesley (Alex) Compton, and Tina Edwards.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Kathryn Compton, and her brother, Ron Compton.

Carol's family will remember her for her kindness, quiet strength, creativity, and the love she shared with those closest to her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
