Loving father, church brother and architectural designer, Carol E. Gruber, of Orlando, FL, died on October 31, 2023.  He was 76 years of age.

Carl, (as he is known by friends), was born in St. Ann's Bay, Jamaica in 1947.  Carl enjoyed relaying stories of his adventures with his friends as a young child, and his experiences as a high schooler and young man in Jamaica.  After immigrating to the United States in the late 70s, he worked as an architect first in Miami, Florida and then permanently in Orlando, Florida.

Carl was devoted to Jesus Christ and by extension, his church family.  He attended Orlando Christian Center with Pastor Benny Hinn for over 20 years.  At the time of his passing, Carl was a member of Faith Assembly church since 2006.

Carl loved his career and was a gifted architect who over the years contributed to several awards won by his firm, The Evans Group.  He worked for the firm for over 25 years with his longtime friend Dan Delong, and collaborated often with his dear friend, Jim Wallace.

Carl will always be remembered for his devotion to his faith, his love for his family and friends, his gift for design, and the joy he derived from his hobbies.

His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who love him.  All wishing to give him one last hug or hear him quote his favorite words of wisdom one last time:  "God, grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, the courage to change the things we can, and the wisdom to know the difference….."

Carl is survived by his son Douglas Gruber and his daughter Gillian Gruber as well as his grandchildren , Yvette, Elizabeth and Jonathan Gruber.  He is also survived by numerous loving family members, including his sisters Beverly and Sonia, and his brothers, Wayne, John and Andrew. In addition, he is survived by his favorite cousins Johnnie Saunders, Trevor Cameron, Leonie Clarke, Jennifer Cheeseman and Christine Davis.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Faith Assembly Church, 9307 Curry Ford Road, Stephen's Chapel – Lot 4, Orlando, FL  32825, at 4:30 PM on December 7, 2023.
