Carol Ann Mackanich, 88 of Ocala, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025. She was born in NJ on January 22, 1937 to Carmine and Florence Giannattasio. After graduating high school she became a bank teller. She then married the late Joseph Mackanich becoming a housewife and mother of 6. She enjoyed spending time with her family playing board games, going camping, watching drive in movies, and being a backstage mom at many dance recitals. Later in life after moving to Florida she enjoyed morning coffee by the pool, word searches, watching our farm animals and having dinner outside. But her biggest enjoyment in life was becoming a grandmother. If she could, she would have spent 24 hours a day with them. There are countless memories she shared with each of them but the greatest was Sunday dinner. There is nothing she loved doing more than making meatballs and pasta each Sunday having everyone together.

Carol is survived by her daughter Denise Lisch and spouse Scott, daughter Donna Manaut and spouse Brian, daughter Linda Schrieks and spouse Chris, son in law Kevin, and daughter JoAnn Savino and spouse Leonard. Grandchildren Bryan, Lauren, Meghan, Amanda, Melissa, AJ, Erin, Zach, Christopher, Gianna and Alexa. Great grandchildren Jayden, Jaxon, Cecelia, Samantha, Charlie, Victoria, Kendall and a soon to be born baby girl Sloane. She is preceded in death by husband Joseph, son Alan and daughter Laura.
