IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Catherine E.
Comeau
January 8, 1929 – May 4, 2024
Catherine Elizabeth Comeau 1/8/1929 – 5/4/2024
Catherine (Sillifant) Comeau passed away peacefully at Tierra Pines Center in Largo, Florida on May 4, 2024. She was 95. She is survived by her sister, Anna May Sillifant, her daughters, Diana (Roat) Markley (Bob) and Carol (Roat) Patterson (Jerry (deceased) ), and her niece, Julie Kams. She was the beloved grandmother of George Markley (Tracy), Greg Markley (Ruby), Tony Rogiero, Jason Markley (Laura), Stacia Gill (Dustin) and Kelly Patterson (Wayne). Her family also includes eleven great-grandchildren and two great great-grandsons. Catherine had a busy, full life as a mom who worked outside the home when it was unusual. She raised her daughters with her first husband, Larry Roat (deceased). She was an accomplished seamstress who often made her daughters matching outfits, loved crafts, and even became a Girl Scout leader when none of the other moms were interested. The girls she led still have lasting memories of good times camping with her troop. As her daughters grew up and started families of their own, her support and advice were invaluable to their lives. She always "had our backs". She loved us and loved her grandchildren. No conversation was complete without a full report of their activities and adventures. Catherine spent the last 50 years of her life in Florida, where she lived with her late husband, Sig Comeau. They lived in Port Charlotte for many years, enjoying their home with their dogs and birds. They also loved traveling in their Winnebago and boating from Charlotte Harbor. Catherine and Sig enjoyed showing their families the wonders of Florida life: we have many memories of our trips exploring the beaches and the Gulf together in the "Winnie". They enjoyed their trips together for many years, sending updates in pictures and hand stamped cards designed and made by Catherine. These creative mementos are treasured by her family. There will be a family memorial service later this summer at First Presbyterian Church in Plymouth, Michigan to celebrate her life.
