In Loving Memory of Catherine Antonia Skinner “Cathy”
Catherine Antonia Skinner, lovingly known as Cathy, passed away on April 28, 2026, in Titusville, Florida, at the age of 79. Born on November 23, 1946, in Providence, Rhode Island, Catherine lived a life defined by warmth, resilience, and deep devotion to her family and friends.
Cathy was the cherished daughter of Mary Kathleen Gilbertson and Anthony Cardone. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gregory Skinner, whom she married in 1973; her parents; her son, Michael Skinner; her brother, Patrick Cardone; and her great-grandchildren, Jordan and Stephen Grueter. Though she experienced great loss, she continued to carry love and strength in her heart, always putting her family first.
She is survived by her loving children: Gregory Skinner, Brendan Skinner, Bianca Grueter, and Maisie Skinner. She also leaves behind her dear siblings, John Cardone and Gailann Procaccini, along with many extended family members and lifelong friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Cathy received her education at St. Mary’s Academy in Providence, Rhode Island, and graduated from Barrington High School in 1965. Her adventurous spirit led her to study for a year at Loreto College in Manchester, England, before eventually settling in Florida in 1971.
Throughout her life, Cathy embraced a variety of careers. She began as a window display designer, where her creativity shone brightly, and later became an antique dealer, pursuing her love for unique and meaningful treasures. She also spent many years working at Burger King and Wendy’s, where she formed lasting friendships and touched countless lives with her kindness and humor.
Her greatest accomplishment, however, was her family. Cathy found immense joy in raising her children and watching them grow, always offering unwavering love and support.
Cathy had a zest for life that was uniquely her own. She delighted in simple pleasures—a good cup of coffee paired with a cigar, browsing thrift shops for hidden gems, listening to music, and dancing whenever the moment called for it. Above all, she treasured time spent surrounded by her family, a love that remained constant until her final days.
She will be remembered for her beautiful and kind soul, her boundless love, and the light she brought into the lives of everyone she met. Cathy’s spirit was one of generosity, warmth, and authenticity—she truly was a beautiful person, inside and out.
A Memorial Service will be held on May 17th at 10:30 a.m. at Tom Statham Park, 7101 US-1, Titusville, Florida 32780.Flowers may be sent to her residence at 2842 Wanda Drive, Titusville, Florida.
Cathy’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
