December 22, 1931 – July 3, 2023
Charles Dupras was born in Bronx, NY in 1931, the family later relocated to Berwick, PA. After graduating high school Charles joined and trained for the United States Navy in Maryland then joined the naval ship USS Worchester becoming a Gunnery officer and serving four years from June 28,1951-May 3, 1955. After serving in the Navy, Charles went to work for Johnson & Johnson in New Jersey for the next fifteen years. While employed at Johnson & Johnson he met his beloved wife, Kathrine. Following his employment at Johnson & Johnson, Charles went to work for Andrew's Industry in Dayton, New Jersey as a truck driver and worked there until he was 53 years old. Charles continued to be a truck driver for a few more years until the age of 59 and decided to retire. As a retiree in New Jersey, Charles became an avid gardener, having a large garden over a quarter acre and grew all vegetables that were in season for that time of year. In addition, Charles enjoyed the flea markets of Jersey and became a big coin collector. Three years later, Katherine and Charles decided to move from New Jersey to Naples, FL with their Jack Russel Terrier, Brandy. While retired in Naples Charles continued his love for gardening, taking care of his dogs, walking on the beach, fishing, watching football and golf, and most of all his love for photography of exotic plants and birds. Charles even sold his pictures for extra spending money because he mastered the craft of photography. In addition, Charles loved going on cruises with his wife, to the Caribbean and being around his family.
Charles passed away peacefully on July 3, 2023, at the age of 91 at Douglas T. Jacobson Verterans home.
Charles will be laid to rest at Patriot Plaza National Cemetary in Sarasota, FL.
Charles is survived by his wife Katherine Dupras of Naples, FL. Sister's Barbara Sewesky of Danville, PA and Mary Lou Kennedy of Melbourne, FL. Daughter Linda Hall and Son in Law Wayne Hall of Fayetteville, GA. Son's Brett Dupras of Lee's Summit, MO, Edward Dupras and Richard Dupras of Edison, NJ. Stepdaughter's Christine Falta of Bonita Springs, FL. Katherine Harper and Son in Law Johnny Harper of Lee's Summit, MO. Grandchildren Jarred Hall and Jordan Hall of Fayetteville, GA, along with many other adored step grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Charles was predeceased by his brother Richard Dupras and stepsons Donald Steepe and Karey Steepe.
Charles was loved deeply by his family and friends and will be missed dearly. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the Alzheimer's Support Network. Located at 1421 Pine Ridge Road, Suite 100 Naples FL 34109.
The service for Charles Dupras will be held on August 4,2023 at 2:00pm Eastern Time at Patriot Plaza Sarasota National Cemetary at 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, Florida 34241.
