Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Charles Lawrence Ingram Sr., fondly known as Charlie, in the early morning of May 28th, 2024. Charlie left this earth with a strong faith, and he was ready to be at peace with the Lord.

Born October 15th, 1939, Charlie was a man of profound character, a dedicated father, and a loving husband to his wife, Judy, his steadfast companion and guiding light for over six decades. He was the second of three siblings born to Moses and Pearl Ingram. In 1958, he graduated from Bladensburg High School in Cheverly, MD and shortly thereafter married his childhood sweetheart, Judy Ingels, in 1959. Together they raised their three children, Charles Jr., Michael and Jennifer, in Davidsonville, Maryland.

Charlie was a diverse master craftsman with the expertise to construct a brand-new home for his family or perform complete engine rebuilds, or any number of skilled trades. He was most admired and revered for his talents as a Crane Operator and Field Engineer with the Operating Engineers Local 77. He then shared his unique gifts by constructing two model cranes that were a 1/16th scaled 60-ton P&H and 90-ton Grove. They were impressively intricate and detailed, not to mention working, remote-controlled model replicas for enthusiasts to marvel at and enjoy.

For all the gifts and talents that Charlie possessed, he was best known for his love of his family and animals. He felt honored to dedicate nearly 65 adoring years of his life married to his wife, and was most proud of his three children whom he raised to be loving, successful, resourceful and generous.

Charlie is survived by his wife Judy, his two sons Charles Jr. (Amy) and Michael (Naomi), his daughter Jennifer, his sister Sue Iaquinta (Lou), his grandsons Austin, Brayden, Dylan, Henry and Ryan, in addition to several cousins, nieces and nephews. His legacy of love, hard work, unwavering principles and inventive spirit will live on through his family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Please join us celebrating his life.
