Charles Houston King, affectionately known as “Houston” to his family and friends, passed away on September 16, 2026, at the age of 68.

Houston was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his ability to make those around him laugh. He had a special way of bringing joy to others, and his laughter and stories will remain cherished memories for all who knew him.

Houston was a proud father of two sons and a grandfather to three grandchildren, with whom he shared many special memories. He also shared his life and family with his former wife, Leona.

Among Houston’s favorite pastimes were gardening and fishing—activities that brought him enjoyment and gave him many moments of peace and happiness throughout his life.

Houston was one of seven siblings. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lois. He is survived by his siblings Peggy, Sue, Al, Gwen, and Cindy. He shared countless memories and meaningful moments with his family throughout his life, creating bonds that will continue to live on in those who loved him.

Houston faced many struggles throughout his life, including significant health challenges. Despite those difficulties, those closest to him will remember his humor, his personality, and the way he could make people laugh even during difficult times. His sense of humor was a special part of who he was, and the memories of his laughter will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.

Houston will be deeply missed, but he will never be forgotten.
