Obituary

In Loving Memory of Charles James Kotsaftis 1936 – 2025 Charles James Kotsaftis, a beloved husband, and friend, passed away on May 4, 2025, in North Port, Florida, at the age of 89. Born in Boston, Massachusetts.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jenny (Evans) and James Kotsaftis, his sister Joanne Kotsaftis, and his daughter Karen Stoll. He leaves behind his wife, Barbara (Emlet) Kotsaftis; her children, Cristi Hernandez and Michael Whitcher; his daughter, Linda Kotsaftis; granddaughter, Hannah Young; and his brother, John Kotsaftis.

Charlie was a standout basketball player at Newton High School. He continued his studies at Wentworth Institute of Technology and then at Northeastern University in Boston, where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering. He later received his Master's in Business Administration from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts—a testament to his lifelong commitment to growth and excellence.

Charlie's career spanned decades in the technology and business sectors, culminating in his ownership of White Mountain Computers in Nashua, New Hampshire during the height of the tech boom. His leadership and entrepreneurial spirit left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike.

In retirement, Charlie remained active and deeply involved in his community. He generously gave his time as a volunteer for the AARP Tax Aide Program, served as Board President of his neighborhood association in Florida, supported the City of North Port through civic engagement, and enjoyed friendly competition in his local golf league.

Charlie was known and loved for his warmth, quick wit, and unshakable sense of humor. To know him was to be met with a smile, a story, and likely a good laugh. He was, in the words of those who knew him best, "a really good guy."

He will forever be remembered by all who had the honor of sharing in his life
