Charles Edward Krause, 85, of Ormond Beach, FL passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at home with his beloved wife of 48 years, Edith Marie Krause (nee Hayes). He was born at home on December 5, 1939 in East Rutherford, NJ to Charles A. Krause and Catherine (nee) Zeman. He was predeceased by his father, mother, and two of his sisters, Caroline and Kitty.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Edith and his children, Timothy & Dawn (nee Demarest) of Wantage, NJ and their children Logan & Talyn, Jennifer & Michael Tapia of Orlando, FL and their children Marisol & Lorenzo, Charles Thomas & Jessica Towle of Branchville NJ and their children, Thomas Finnegan & Charles Levi, Joseph & Coral (nee Vaughan) of Wantage, NJ and their sons Lincoln, Emmitt, Oaklen, & Mason, his Sister, Lillian Scrivinach (nee Krause) of Toms River, NJ and her daughters, Michele, Jill, and Gail and his brother, Steve Ellis of East Rutherford, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, sister in laws, brother in laws, and many friends and family.
Charlie graduated from East Rutherford High School in 1957 and went on to join the U.S. Navy. His education continued and he obtained a welding certification, boilers license, and Class A mechanic. He started two local businesses under the names of Glass Odyssey and Edith's Welding. He also worked at Continental Airlines and Federal Express. After retiring, he worked at Lowes in Hampton, NJ for 10 years.
Charlie coached soccer, baseball, and umpired for his children's baseball/softball teams. He was the Cub Master & Scout Master for Troop 180 in Branchville, and volunteered for many years at YMCA Fairview Lake Camp.
Charlie built their family home in Frankford, NJ and enjoyed over 42 years of memories, home births, volleyball games and EPIC "KRAUSE HOUSE" parties. He also enjoyed raising Golden Retrievers.
Charlie's biggest passion in life was Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He owned and built numerous Harley Davidsons from 1957 to the present day.
