Charles Phelan's Obituary

Charles Osborne Phelan, 80, of Ocala, FL, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022. He was born in Paterson, NJ the son of Charles and Adelaide (Raimondi) Phelan. Charles was a production supervisor with ITT-Marlow (International Telephone & Telegraph) for 23 years. Later a pricing analyst for SGS. He was a veteran having served in the 1st Military Police Co. – 1st Infantry Div. of the US Army. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 43 years, Patricia Phelan.

An adventurous, witty, generous, kind & loving person, he loved sailing, skiing (where they met) and traveling with his wife. A marvelous landscaper, his hobbies were history, antique cars & antique train models.

He was a member of Veterans & Patriots Club at Oak Run, Republican Club, Appleton Museum of Art, College of CF Foundation, Veterans of Foreign Wars, 1st MP Co., 1st Inf. Div. and Wyckoff Masonic Lodge #287.

Survived by cousins Lyn Cox of Sherwood, MD and Tom Condy of LaPaz, Mexico; brother-in-law, sister-in-law, numerous cousins, nephews, great nephews & great nieces in NY and cousins in FL & NC.

On Tuesday, August 23, 2022, Mr. Phelan will be laid to rest in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL with ceremony and military honors. Must arrive @12:15 pm (military precision). In lieu of flowers, family kindly requests memorial donations in his honor to Big Red One Scholarship Fund, PO Box 607, Ambler, PA 19002.
