Obituary

Charlotte Maartense Weiderhold , age 103, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 5, 2022. She was born in Rochester, NY on November 18, 1918 to John Paulus Maartense and Mary Ann McGuire Maartense. She is survived by her youngest sister Joyce Browning and her children – Russell Weiderhold, Jr.; Joanne Battaglia (Mark) and Raymond Weiderhold (Colleen). In addition, she is survived by 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren – Matthew Battaglia (Rachel); Mirandy Cook; Valerie Battaglia and Arrolynn Marsh (Doug); Zoe Cook; Zen Cook, Emma Battaglia and Alton Battaglia. She was Predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Russell Weiderhold, Sr. In addition, she was predeceased by her remaining siblings Elizabeth Oakleaf; Cornelius Maartense; Dorothy Bernier and James Maartense.

Charlotte was a veteran of World War II and served in the Women's Army Corp at Fort Oglethorpe, GA, where she met her husband who was serving in the Army as well. Prior to joining the Army, she worked for Eastman Kodak Corporation in Rochester, NY.

She will always be remembered as a kind and loving person who made a warm and happy home for her family.

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 10 th at 10:00 am at Ocoee Christian Church (15 S. Bluford Avenue, Ocoee, FL), followed by interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park (400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL)
