Cheryl Lynn Cunningham, “Sherrie”, 68, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Born October 16, 1957, in Pueblo, Colorado, Cheryl was the daughter of Marion and Mary Helen Cunningham. She was raised in Orlando, Florida, where weekends spent with her family at Cocoa Beach sparked a lifelong love of the ocean.

Cheryl fulfilled her dream of living by the beach when she made her home in New Smyrna Beach. There, she found not only the coastal life she had always imagined but also a wonderful community of friends whose care and companionship became a meaningful part of her life.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Larry Cunningham. She is survived by her daughters, Adrienne Evans and Michelle Orozco (Josh); her brother, Steve Cunningham; and her beloved grandchildren, Jordan, Owen, John, Kylie, Alayna, Elijha, Emmalynn and Ensley.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Cheryl on Saturday, September 5, 2026 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm at:

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Cheryl’s memory to the Marine Discovery Center in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, an organization that reflects her love and appreciation for the beauty of the coast.
