Loving Memory of Cheryl Ann Doperak

Cheryl Ann Doperak, 66, passed away peacefully at home on September 29, 2026, surrounded by her family and loved ones, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Cheryl was born on June 13, 1960, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Frank Doperak and Virginia (Morrison) Doperak. She later moved with her parents to Ocean City, New Jersey, where her family made many wonderful memories together. Cheryl loved the beach, and some of her happiest memories were spending time there with her parents, sisters, nieces, and nephews. Those family beach days were a special part of her life and reflected how much she treasured being surrounded by the people she loved.

Cheryl was predeceased by her beloved parents, Frank and Virginia Doperak, and her brothers, Francis, Robert, and John. She is survived by her loving wife of nearly 24 years, Donna Narciso; her beloved son, Jason Narciso; her sisters, Joanne Grace (Jack) and Virginia Doperak (Bob); as well as many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Cheryl was the kind of person who loved deeply and protected the people she cared about. Family meant everything to her. She loved children and had a special gift for making people feel loved and cared for.
One of the greatest joys of Cheryl’s life was her son, Jason. When Donna and Cheryl welcomed Jason into their lives at just two months old, Cheryl became his mother with such natural love that it was as though she had given birth to him herself. She loved him, protected him, guided him, and cherished him from that very first day. Jason was her son in every sense of the word, and he was one of the greatest gifts of her life. The family they built together—Donna, Cheryl, and Jason—was everything to her.

Cheryl spent many years working for Allstate Insurance. After becoming a mother, she stayed home to raise Jason. Later, she worked as a lunch aide in Jason’s school, a job that allowed her to be close to him and be there for the moments that mattered most.

Cheryl loved life and knew how to have fun. She loved music, singing, dancing, being silly, and going to concerts with Donna. She loved singing to Donna in the car, and those songs and memories will remain in Donna’s heart forever. She and Donna loved taking the Cape May–Lewes ferry to Delaware, spending the day fishing, dancing, laughing, and simply enjoying life together. She was a devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan and loved going out with Donna to watch football games.

Cheryl was especially proud to be a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Her pride in that organization was deeply connected to her father, Frank, who served in the Air Force. After moving to Florida, Cheryl and Donna experienced a hurricane before they had really had a chance to build a circle of friends. Cheryl’s response was simple: they were members of the VFW, so they should go there and help. She spent weeks volunteering with food drives and helping gather supplies for people who had lost so much. The VFW became more than an organization to Cheryl—it became a community of friends who loved and supported her.

During Cheryl’s illness, those VFW friends continued to stand beside her and her family with prayers, food, kindness, and love. Cheryl was deeply grateful for them.

Cheryl was surrounded by love throughout her journey. Her mother-in-law, Carole, was also a tremendous source of love and support, standing by Cheryl and helping care for her during this difficult time. That love and presence meant so much to Cheryl and to her family.

Cheryl shared nearly 24 years of life and love with Donna, her wife, best friend, partner, and the love of her life. Together they built a family, shared countless adventures and ordinary moments, laughed together, sang together, watched football together, and stood beside one another through everything life brought their way.
Cheryl will be remembered for her loving heart, her kindness, her protectiveness, her sense of humor, and the way she showed up for the people she loved. She will be deeply missed by everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

Most of all, Cheryl will be remembered simply as a woman who loved her family with her whole heart.
She was loved deeply. She was cherished. And she will never be forgotten.

Rest peacefully, Cheryl Ann. You earned your wings.
