Obituary

Christina Joanne Baker, 60, of Tavares, Florida, passed away April 30, 2026 at Advent Hospital Waterman, Tavares, Florida.

Born February 18, 1966, in Huntington, Long Island, New York, she was the daughter of Benedetto and Marie (Josifek) Randazzo, whose love and guidance shaped her caring spirit.

Christina lived a life defined by compassion, generosity, and a deep love for both people and animals. She made her home in Tavares, Florida, where she built a life centered on family, faith, and service to others.

Christina was known as the proprietor of The Wine Den; a popular wine bar and retail bottle shop she owned and operated from 2008 to 2017. During that time, she founded the Mount Dora Wine Walk and created “Yappy Hour,” hosted in partnership with Piglet’s Pantry — community events that brought people together while supporting a greater cause.

Her passion for animals, especially those in need, helped these events raise thousands of dollars for the Humane Society of Lake County. Her generous spirit helped sustain the mission of this no-kill shelter and made a lasting difference in the lives of countless animals and families throughout the community.

In 2020, Christina joined her husband in building Global Recruiters of Orlando North, an executive recruiting firm, where she served as Office Manager. Together they combined professional excellence with a shared commitment to helping others advance their careers and lives.

In 2025, Christina renewed her faith in Jesus Christ, a decision that brought her deep peace and strengthened her walk with God. She became a regular attendee of Union Congregational Church in Tavares, where she found comfort, community, and spiritual renewal.

Christina will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and remarkable ability to bring people together. Whether through her business, her charitable work, or her personal relationships, she had a gift for making others feel welcome, valued, and loved.

Christina is survived by her husband, Eric; parents, Hendersonville, North Carolina; sister, Carolyn, (Terry) Rogers, Apopka, Florida; and brother, J.R. (Lisa) Randazzo, Ormond Beach, Florida, along with extended family and many dear friends. She is also lovingly survived by her devoted fur babies — canine sons, Caymus and Mondavi, and daughter, Kendall — who will no doubt spend their days looking for the one who loved them best.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Union Congregational Church, 302 N. St. Clair Abrams Avenue, Tavares, Florida, Thursday, June 11 at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Lake County, 16435 McKinley Road, Umatilla, FL 32784, to honor Christina’s lifelong love and compassion for animals.

Though her passing leaves a profound void, Christina’s legacy lives on — in the community she helped shape, the lives she touched, and the love she shared so freely. Her faith assures us that this is not the end, but a new beginning in eternal peace.

“Christina, thank you for making me a better person over the twenty-six years we shared together.

Your endless enthusiasm and infectious smile will forever be with me — until we meet again.” — Eric
