Obituary

Christopher Camp (stage name: Christopher Tracy) passed away September 10, 2021 at 50 years old. He was survived by his beloved wife Kyla Camp, his parents Don and Lori Camp, sister Juliane (Camp) Higginbotham and niece Abigail (Camp) Higginbotham of Jonesboro, Georgia, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and 3 uncles.

Christopher's interest in magic began when he was 10 years old and used to practice in front of his mirror. He did his first shows for his cousins and friends using his sister as an assistant. Always with a smile on his face, he liked to make people laugh, so he gravitated towards comedy magic. Some of his first professional performances were birthday parties and working as a street performer at Underground Atlanta.

Christopher started working for Magic Masters in 1990 in Atlanta and helped open their stores in Las Vegas and Orlando. He did shows in casinos, cruise ships, clubs, restaurants, and had a weekly show at the Marriott Resorts in Orlando. In addition, at the invitation of the Department of Defense, he had the opportunity to entertain the troops through Armed Forces Entertainment. Through the Ohr Meir Foundation, he also volunteered his time every year to entertain sick children with his comedic magical gift.

Christopher was a dedicated comedy magician who enjoyed entertaining all who crossed his path. He would bring a smile to all who surrounded him. He always had a trick up his sleeve, an ace in his pocket, and a bird in his hat. He'd give you a flaming thumbs up that could literally light up a room or possibly singe an eyebrow. His sense of humor could entertain any room and make people feel like they were levitating in his presence, no strings attached. Christopher's infectious personality was truly magical and can be seen through the friends and family that care about him all across the country. Just remember that his sense of humor would have him say, "I'm so good at sleeping that I do it with my eyes closed."

Christopher's celebration of life will be at Community Bible Church, 2001 Jodeco Rd., Stockbridge, Ga. 30281 on October 3 at 3pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ohr Meir Foundation, 3023 Avenue 1, Brooklyn, New York, 11210.
