Mrs. Cleo Porter, Ms. Cleo as she was lovingly called, by friends and staff, age 103, of Maitland, Florida passed away peacefully, Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Bedrock Rehabilitation & Nursing Center at Winter Park, with her family lovingly by her side. She was born June 20, 1920, to Rosa Alberta Chandler and Bismarck Chandler, in Chicago, Ill.

Throughout her illustrious life, she spent 37 years in supervisory roles at the phone company showcasing her dedication and leadership. A trailblazer in the world of fashion, she was recognized as one of the ten best-dressed African American women in Chicago, leaving an enduring legacy in the fashion industry.

Beyond her professional achievements, Mrs. Porter embraced her roles as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother with boundless love. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond family boundaries as she served as a caregiver to her mother, grandmother, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and dear friends. She is survived by her devoted son, Eugene L. Porter, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Mary Pryor Porter, her loving granddaughter, Courtney Torbert, granddaughters Leslie Porter and Stacey Porter, grandsons Joe Boynton and Kevin Boynton, great grandsons, Jordan Mitchell, Brandon Torbert, and Noah Boynton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene L. Porter, Sr., Grandmother Virginia Vaughn, sister Ellaveese Watters, and nephew Arthur Jones and Elmer Porter and niece Renee Porter,.
