IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Clifford William
Jones
August 31, 1939 – April 15, 2024
Clifford William Jones, 84, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on April 15, 2024. He was born on August 31, 1939 to the late Clifford and Mary (nee Tumbleson) Jones of Williamsburg, Ohio. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Barbara (nee Jones) Williams and his half-brother, Clarence Jacob Troutman.
Clifford is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carol (nee Jones) Jones, sister Janet (nee Jones) Bennington, niece Peggy (Bennington) Jeffries, niece Sherry (Williams) Parks, great-nephews Logan, Liam, and Billie, and sister-in-law Janet (Tom) Fussner.
After graduation from Williamsburg High School, Cliff served in the United States Navy as Radarman on the USS Amherst, USS Leyte, and the USS Independence. Once stateside, he returned to his job at Emery Industries in Cincinnati. After some college training at the University of Cincinnati, Cliff took the position as Maintenance Supervisor for The Kroger Company, keeping refrigeration and heavy equipment in good operating condition. He retired from Krogers and he and his wife moved to Ocala, Florida where the weather better suited his physical difficulties. There, he participated in a golf tournament and won a Buick Century for his wife. Cliff joined the Masonic Lodge, working tirelessly as a 92nd degree Mason. At home, he became a master woodworker who could build nearly anything from backyard sundecks to decorative candlesticks.
When health issues interfered with his golf game, he discovered a latent talent for art. He enjoyed painting landscapes, lighthouses, and old barns.
