Clifton H. Gee, age 79, of Port Dickinson, NY died Saturday, August 12 at his winter home since 2004, in Ormond Beach, FL, after a year long battle with ALS. He was the eldest son of Clifton I. Gee and Doris M. (Barnes) Gee of Corning, NY. Clif graduated from Corning Northside High School in 1956 and received his Bachelor of Science degree in mathmatics from Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, MI. He was a high school math teacher for nine years before starting a successful insurance agency and brokerage which he operated with his wife, Marjorie, for 31 years in Chenango County,NY. Although he won many sales awards, he never "sold" a policy, preferring instead to explain coverages, then letting customers choose for themselves. Outside the office, Clif enjoyed woodworking, golf, dancing, and creative writing. He was a member and officer of Lions club, chambers of commerce, school boards, and independent insurance associations. He also enjoyed many friends from several parts o North America and abroad. He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Marjorie E. (Greene) Gee; sons Scott and Mark Gee of Binghamton, NY; daughter Jo Laine Gee of NYC; grand-daughter Kiran Yemul of Chicago, IL; sister Valerie (Larry) Tears of Bath, NY; sisters-in-law Josie (Charlie) Russell and Amy (Deane) Ellsworth; brother-in-law Carl (Liz) Greene; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Clif was pre-deceased by his parents and two younger brothers, Ken (Cherie) Gee and Ron (Donna) Gee.
