Rake
March 24, 1932 – January 20, 2021
Clora May Rake, aged 78, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Solaris Health Care Center in Merritt Island, Florida. She was born on March 24, 1942 in Danville, Pennsylvania to Robert and Laura Mensch. She is survived by her loving husband, Franklin L Rake whom she married on February 27, 1959; three children Richard L Rake and wife Jill of Poulsbo, Washington; Waymon C Rake and wife Candy of Titusville, Florida; and Wanda L (Rake) Holloway and husband Lester (Boo) of Oakville, Ontario Canada; grandchildren Andrea, Richard, Jason, Spencer, Heather, Nathan, Zachary, Ryan; great grandchildren Shay and Alexi, numerous nieces and nephews; and her siblings Robert and Glenda. After raising her children, Clora earned a degree in Radiology and had a successful Radiology Technicians career. She enjoyed painting, creating flower arrangements, crafting ceramics, playing golf and line dancing. She had a warm smile, contagious spirit, and had a knack for making everyone feel 'at home' in her presence. Clora was a wonderful wife and caring mother. She was regarded as a very kind and loving person and was well liked by everyone she met. In addition to her parents, Clora was preceded in death by her siblings: Emily, Judy, Terry and Bill of Berwick, Pennsylvania. The family would like to thank the wonderful help and care given by VITAS hospice and the superb and loving staff at the Solaris Healthcare Center.
