Obituary

Clyde Eugene "Gene" Belford, Jr., 79, of Sanford, Florida, passed away peacefully in his favorite chair on May 29, 2026.

Gene was a man with a big heart, an infectious smile, and a love for life that touched everyone who knew him. He was fun-loving, family-oriented, and always happiest when surrounded by those he loved. Gene never met a stranger and had a gift for making people feel welcome with his easygoing nature and generous spirit.

A proud United States Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War, Gene carried his sense of duty, strength, and patriotism throughout his life. He also had a deep passion for music and enjoyed playing the saxophone, drums, and guitar, bringing joy to family gatherings and special occasions through the years.

Gene's love for the water was one of his greatest passions and a legacy he proudly passed on to his sons. Whether boating, scuba diving, snorkeling, or traveling to new places, he found peace and adventure on and around the water. He also enjoyed basketball, horseshoes, and any opportunity for friendly competition.

Known for appreciating life's simple pleasures, Gene was always ready for a game of cornhole, a cold beer, a good cigar, and the company of family and friends. His laughter, stories, and larger-than-life personality will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Gene is survived by his loving sons, Jeff Belford (Misty) and Todd Belford (Diane); his cherished grandchildren, Dalen, Sydney, Jayla, and Sabrina; and Larissa Belford, the mother of Jayla and Sabrina.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Christine Belford, and his parents, Clyde Belford, Sr. and Ethel Holiday.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home in Titusville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Gene's memory to Pet Rescue by Judy, 401 S. Laurel Avenue, Sanford, FL 32771.

Gene lived life fully, loved deeply, and left behind a lifetime of memories that will continue to bring smiles to those who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy of love, laughter, music, and family will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
