IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Connie
Hruslinski
March 28, 1945 – January 17, 2026
Connie K. Hruslinski (Neiswanger), 80, of Cocoa, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on January 17, 2026. Born on March 28, 1945, in Odon, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Doris (Young) Neiswanger. Connie was a woman who defined herself through her boundless energy and her heart for service. For many years, she served as the Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Dean of Education at Indiana University, retiring in the 2000s. However, retirement did not mean slowing down. Connie was famously known as the “Card Lady” at Party City and channeled her deep love for animals into her own successful dog-walking and pet-sitting business in Bloomington. She possessed a unique gift for comforting others, which she shared during her time as a beloved staff member at Allen Funeral Home. Her community spirit extended to her volunteer work at the Opportunity House in Bloomington and her dedicated service as a booster for Space Coast Jr/Sr High School basketball, where she could often be found running the concession stand and cheering the loudest for her grandson, Shawn. Connie’s zest for life took her across the United States and onto the high seas on numerous cruises. She found particular magic at the Magic Kingdom, holding a lifelong affection for Mickey Mouse. Of all her adventures, her greatest joy was the time spent with her grandson, Shawn, teaching him the value of discovery and the thrill of travel. She is survived by her devoted husband, Edward Hruslinski; her daughter, Tracy Koontz and husband Michael; her son, Jeff Riggins; her cherished grandson, Shawn Koontz; and her brother, Bart Neiswanger and wife Marilyn. A small memorial service will be held in Florida, and Connie will eventually be laid to rest at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery. To honor her vibrant spirit, a Celebration of Life will be held in Bloomington, Indiana, later this spring during her favorite time of year. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Connie’s memory to the Sea Turtle Preservation Society (https://seaturtlespacecoast.org/donate/donations), an organization reflecting her love for nature and her Florida home.
