Connie Larue Wessell, 71 of Bonita Springs, passed away suddenly, although too soon, the family takes comfort that she is now at home with her Lord and Savior. Connie was born in Clarion, Pennsylvania to the late Carl William McKinley, and survived by her mother Virginia Ray (nee Miller) McKinley.

Connie loved to Sew and was extremely gifted as a seamstress; she was also known for her ability to sing and her caring spirit. Connie met the love of her life, James R. Wessell, thanks to his parents requesting that people send him birthday cards for his 18th birthday in Vietnam. Jim and Connie continued to correspond upon returning from Vietnam he went and meet Connie, the kept in touch for 2 years and were married, April 25, 1970.

Connie and Jim enjoyed being together and decided to travel the country in their RV. The travel to Indiana to see Jim's brother and to Pennsylvania to see Connie's family staying at their favorite campsite in Shilo.

Connie is survived by her beloved husband James R. Wessell; her devoted mother, Virginia Ray McKinley of Brookville, PA; dear sisters, Debbie Jones of Brookville, PA, Wendy Bauer of Conway, South Carolina, and Liz Buffington of Brookville, PA. she is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Gulf Shore Life Center, 25300 Bernwood Drive, Bonita Springs, FL 34135 on Saturday, December 4, 2021 beginning at 2 PM.
