Obituary

Our dear Mom, affectionately known as Nana or Miss Connie, Constance Elfa Cupac of Merritt Island, Florida, passed away on the 27th of February 2023 at the age of 84 with family by her side.

Connie was an island girl. Born and raised in the beautiful island paradise of Antigua, WI; she joins her late parents, Lawrence and Eileen Gonsalves. She met our late dad, Daniel Ivan Cupac, while he was in the Navy stationed in Antigua. We are comforted imagining them, along with her late son, Larry Cupac, and other family members all holding hands and dancing once again in their forever paradise.

Connie is survived by her three children: Kathy Buthker, Dan Cupac, Carole Quintal, daughter-in-law Roberta Cupac, and son-in-law Clint Quintal of Merritt Island, Florida. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, her brothers- Gene and Larry Gonsalves, and many nieces and nephews.

Miss Connie was a pre-school teacher at Faith Lutheran in Merritt Island, Florida for 25+ years. In fact, if you had a garage sale between the years of 1990-2015 it is a good chance she was there "sailing" with her many grandchildren buying items for her classroom and everyone else! Miss Connie shared her love of children with Divine Mercy as well; she taught in the Rainbow Room for 15+ years. Miss Connie worked long days, but the amount of joy she received from all her children filled her heart.

Nana was the taxi driver, ice cream buyer, date night babysitter, gift giver, and love provider to her nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She helped raise many of these said grandchildren without the blink of an eye. Nana's unselfish daily gifts of her time, energy, and compassion to her grands were simply beautiful. BEST.NANA.EVER.

Mom was undeniably the best role model to have as a mother. She always put the family first, checked for our needs, and supported her four children in every way possible. She was our hero. Our rock. Our loving, devoted mother, and we were blessed to have her. We know mom is watching us from above and will protect us through the rest of our journey here until we all meet again in forever paradise.

Finally, Mom spent the last four years of her life at an Adult Family Home in Rockledge, Florida. Our family is forever grateful to RC and Karen Wilkes at Above The Mark Care. The absolute love, care, and kindness they provided comforted our entire family. We love you guys!

To all who ever loved her, worked with her, or called her a friend. Thank you. She loved you right back!
