She was the youngest of three – the baby – born fearless and bold.  She gave everything, every time.  Her courageous and uninhibited nature made her the free spirit of the family.  She was serious but also had a silly side.  She protected her tender heart with a tough outer shell and found goodness in everyone.

She was taken away from us at only 48, far too soon.  Her mother, family and friends are all grief-stricken and heartbroken since receiving news of her tragic death.

We love you Courtney and will continue to cherish your memory and mourn your loss until that great and glorious day when we all gather in heaven.

Courtney is survived by her mother Mary Vaughn from Virginia, grandmother Sue Bulger from Mississippi, brother Jerry Dukes (Charla) from Mississippi, sister Nicolle Dukes Davis (JP Waltner) and nephew Eliot Davis from Virginia, stepmother Lynn Dukes from North Carolina, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends across the South.   She was preceded in death by her father Steve Dukes, paternal grandparents Gwen and Timon Dukes, grandfather A.L. Bulger, maternal grandparents A.R. and Audrey Vaughn.
