C. Brenton Battersby (92) died June 30, 2016 and was  buried November 4, 2016 at Georgia National Cemetery with full military honors.  Brent's wife Cecilia B Battersby (82) died January 19, 2017 in Eastanollee, GA. Brent & Cecilia are survived by daughters Carys Strain (husband Scott) and Christine Hartley (husband Steve), daughter-in-law Maria Battersby,  and six grandchildren – Katherine Strain Watson (husband Johnie), John Strain, Brian Hartley, Eric Hartley, Alexandra Battersby, Andrew Battersby.  Their son Clinton Brenton Battersby died in 2011.  Brent was a US Navy Reserve pilot who served during WWII and retired after 20+ years.  Brent attended the University of New Hampshire and completed B.S and M.S. degrees in Animal Science. He was a public school teacher for 25 years (vocational agriculture, FFA, science, industrial arts) in New Hampshire, Florida, Guam and Hawaii.  In 1982, Brent & Cecilia returned to New Smyrna Beach/Edgewater.   Brent was devoted to his family and to his savior Jesus Christ.  We love both parents dearly and thank God that we will see them again. brentcbb@gmail.com
