Paterson
April 22, 1948 – January 29, 2026
Craig Paterson, of Port Orange, FL passed at home after a long battle with cancer with his wife by his side on January 29, 2026. He was 77 yrs old.
He was preceded in death by his father Ebenezer Paterson, mother Mary Paterson and sister Jana Bittner.
He was born in Trenton, New Jersey on April 22, 1948. Craig Attended Steinert High School, Hamilton, NJ. He immediately enlisted in the United States Air Force after graduating and proudly served from 1967 to 1971 in Southeast Asia (Vietnam Conflict), as an aircraft and jet aircraft mechanic.
From 1971 to 1979 had co-business East Coast Cycle Shop selling custom motorcycle parts, sold cars at Gilbert and mott Chevrolet, motorcycles at Cooper Cycle Ranch, and Brians Harley Davidson.
With the help of his great friend Alex Michalchuk, he built a 1937 Chevy Sportsman stock car that he ran in the Sportsman Division at Flemington Fairgrounds Speedway and East Windsor Speedway. They also restored a 1966 C.A.E. roll bar sprint car that he ran with the Williams Grove Old Timers, Atlantic Coast Old Times, and the Daytona Antique Auto Racing Association (Florida).
In 1979 Craig joined the Hamilton Township Police Department. He retired as a detective in 2005.
Always an avid motorcycle rider, he enjoyed his many Harleys and this restoration of a 1940 Indian Chief.
Golfing was another sport he loved, starting as a young man with his father, and continuing the rest of his life. Had the honor of getting a Hole in One.
He will be missed by his golf buddies in Daytona as they always loved taking all his money on the golf course!
He was a lifetime member of the VFW, long time member of American Legion, Eagles, Elks Moose Lodge and the Brotherhood of Freemason.
If Craig started talking to you, you were a friend for life and as he traveled the country he always found new forever friends.
Craig is survived by his wife Linda, a nephew and two nieces of New Jersey.
Calling hours at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home, Port Orange, Feb. 5, 2-4 pm.
Burial will be at a later date at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, Fl.
