IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cynthia "Cindy"
O'Lear
September 19, 1945 – May 10, 2025
In Loving Memory of Cynthia Kathleen "Cindy" O'Lear September 1945 – May 10, 2025 Cindy was so many things to so many people—a mom, grandma, sister, aunt, cousin, widow, and friend. She wore each of those titles with love and pride, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, creativity, and resilience.
Cindy was an artist, working on a painting inspired by a profound personal experience—a glimpse of Heaven during a near-death experience she once had. She hoped to finish that painting, and in our hearts, we imagine her now, lovingly completing it.
She was a drug and alcohol abuse counselor for more than 20 years who helped hundreds find their way to recovery. Her empathy and strength guided others toward healing, hope, and second chances.
Cindy was a business owner, bringing both grit and grace into every venture. She was a lover of food, with a great appreciation for flavor and shared meals.
She was a talker, whose conversations could range from practical wisdom to soul-deep reflection, and usually involved some recipe she was trying.
She was bossy, in a way that made things happen. She was stubborn, in the best way—persistent and determined, and which was sometimes a challenge to the people around her. And above all, she was kind-hearted, always making space for others and loving without reservation.
Cindy's final years were marked by ongoing health struggles. Her body, after many battles, simply wore out. But she faced this reality with peace, telling us clearly that she didn't plan to resist when Jesus called her home. She looked forward with joy to being reunited with her third husband David O'Lear of almost 30 years, along with Ron Cornwell, her second husband, who like David, died of cancer, Grandma Lucielle Cole, her parents Phil and Kate Lenart and brothers Richard and Allen Lenart.
Her sister Lorrie Lenart was by her side at the end, and in her final minutes, Cindy was surrounded—if not physically, then spiritually and audibly—by the love of her children and grandchildren. Words of love, blessings, and encouragement were spoken directly into her ear. Even as her body failed, her spirit was wrapped in connection.
To Cindy, love was not a casual feeling—it was a gift from God, meant to be shared generously. One of her most treasured sayings was: "Love those around you—God gives us love as a gift that grows the more you share it." Cindy shared her love, faith, and prayers freely. She will be deeply missed, but her voice, her art, her stories, and her influence remain alive in the people she touched.
As we celebrate her life, we invite you to share your stories, your love, your time, just as she did. Finish something you started. Encourage someone who's struggling. Call a loved one every morning, just to check in. Live with purpose. That's how she lived—and that's how she would want to be remembered.
She will be interred next to her beloved David at Bushnell National Cemetery on September 19, 2025, surrounded by her family and closest friends.
Later on September 19, there will be a celebration of Cindy's life in The Villages at Seabreeze Recreation Center 2384 Buena Vista Boulevard The Villages, FL 32162. The Celebration of Life is open to all that knew and loved Cindy.
