Obituary

Dan W. Vallier, husband, father to four children, eleven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, passed away November 20, 2019 at the age of 75.  He was born in Detroit, Michigan to James and Betty Vallier, and at an early age, his family moved to Orlando, Florida.

To his friends, he was always available for a good time fishing, and for help and quick thinking in tough situations.  To his children, he taught them to fish, navigate coastal waterways, and to be smart and tough no matter what circumstance they faced.  To his grandchildren, he was always willing to fix their bicycles, teach them to mow his yard, and tell them wonderful and absurd stories.

His greatest achievement in life was marrying Rita Vickers, who bore his children, prepared his meals, physically cared for him, and loved him dearly.  He was also a U.S. Navy Veteran, business owner, a fishing buddy, hat collector, a walking-stick maker, lover of motorcycles, and got a kick out of shooting black powder muskets.  He had a quick wit and could tell a joke well, though many were inappropriate.  He had two cats, Izzard and Lizzy, Lizzy being his favorite.
