IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dana
Fidler
November 25, 1948 – June 22, 2023
Dana Dorene (Srader) Fidler, 74, of Leesburg, FL passed away at home with loved ones by her side on June 22, 2023. She was born on November 25, 1948, in Kansas City, MO and was a resident of the Kansas City area for the majority of her life. Dana played the flute and loved the marching band at Truman High School where she graduated in 1966. She attended Central Missouri State University (now UCM) from 1967 to 1968 where she studied art.
Dana had a successful 31-year career at Hallmark Cards, with a focus on Licensing. Not long after retiring in 2009, she moved to Mount Dora, FL where she spent time renovating and decorating the home she shared with her boyfriend, also named Dana. She was an avid dog lover and was especially proud of their dog, Darcy.
She enjoyed traveling with her boyfriend, driving to see her grandkids and cheering for the Kansas Jayhawks. She had many talents and hobbies including cross stitching, beading, creating beautiful pieces of custom jewelry, mosaics, sewing fancy clothes for her grandchildren, reading and gardening.
She overcame many serious health challenges in her life. Dana was an absolute warrior in how she handled her diagnoses and treatments with class, determination, and pure stubbornness not to let them bring her down or make her cranky.
Dana was sweet and kind, she will be greatly missed and is forever loved. The family would like to thank the Doctors, nurses and many healthcare workers that treated her with compassionate and dedicated care over the years.
Dana is survived by her longtime companion and soul mate, Dana Parsons, daughter, Megan Ford, son-in-law, Michael Ford, grandchildren, Claire, Abigail and Baker, mother, Janis Srader, brother, David Srader, sister-in-law, Peggy Srader, nephews, Christoper (Asia) Srader, Daniel (Amanda) Srader, nieces, Stephanie Srader and Sara Srader, along with her great nieces and nephews and other family members and good friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Srader.
At her request, there will be no memorial service, please go play her favorite game of Scrabble and think of her.
