Danford Wayne Dennis, Sr., 78, of Lehigh Acres, FL., passed away on December 10, 2018, at his residence. He was born on September 11, 1940, in Middletown, Ohio, to the late Willis Earl and Mamie (Shirey) Dennis. Danford proudly served as a sergeant in the United States Army and later worked as a Maintenance Technician for AK Steel, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the American Legion Post #0323, and the Moose Lodge #501. He enjoyed flying, scuba diving, fishing and drinking beer with friends. Danford is survived by his loving wife, Linda Dennis of 56 years; his son, Danford W. Dennis, Jr., daughter in law Mathurot Dennis of San Francisco, CA., his son, Mark E. Dennis of Lehigh Acres, FL., his son in law, Andrew Dennis of Lehigh Acres, FL., his sister, Maryanne Kidwell of Middletown, OH., sister in law, Patricia (Ellis) Leger of North Port, FL., his brother in law, Leamon Leger of North Port, FL., his brother in law, Winston Kidwell of Middletown, OH., his grandson, James E. Dennis Sr., and his great grandson, James E. Dennis Jr., and 18 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Richard Lee Dennis, and sisters in law Scarlett O'Hara Dennis, and Janet Ellis Melchers.
