Daniel Eugene
Fields
Nov 19, 1953 — Oct 25, 2026
In loving memory of Daniel (Dan) Eugene Fields, who passed away peacefully at his home on October 25, 2026, with his devoted wife Carolyn by his side. Dan was born on November 19, 1953, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Eugene Everett Fields and Virginia Bell Anderson. He was a kind, generous, and sweet man whose life was a testament to love, faith, and dedication.
Dan's journey began in Iowa, where he was raised by his loving parents, Eugene and Virginia. From a young age, Dan demonstrated a strong sense of duty and patriotism, which led him to enlist in the United States Navy. He served his country with honor from 1971 to 1975 during the Vietnam War, earning several medals, including the Navy Achievement Medal.
While serving in the Navy, Dan completed his high school education, a testament to his perseverance and dedication. After his military service, Dan embarked on a remarkable 42 year career at Airgas, where he rose to the position of Vice President of Operations before retiring in 2016. His colleagues remember him as a leader who combined professionalism with genuine kindness.
Dan's heart was always full of love for his family. He married Carolyn Haffner on July 1, 2015, and together they shared 25 wonderful years. His daughters, Elizabeth Fields of Bolingbrook, IL, and Angela Brewer (Mark) of Nixa, MO, were his pride and joy. Dan was also a devoted grandfather to Nathan and Tori Brewer of Nixa, MO. Though predeceased by his grandson Devin Brewer, Dan's love and legacy live on in his family.
An ardent outdoorsman, Dan found peace in the simple joys of hunting and fishing. He cherished traveling adventures with Carolyn and spent many cherished hours watching old Westerns. His favorite pastime was playing cribbage with his daughter Beth, where laughter and love were always present.
Dan was a man of deep Christian faith and an active member of Summit Church. His unwavering belief in his faith was evident throughout his life, and he was known for his generosity and kindness to all those he met.
A service to celebrate Dan's life will be held on November 19, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Tabor Funeral Home, 75 S 13th Ave, Brighton, Colorado.
As we say our final goodbye, we take solace in the words of George Strait, "Oh the last goodbye's are the hardest one to say, and this is where the cowboy rides away." Dan will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, faith, and kindness will forever remain in our hearts.
