It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Danny Standridge of Ocala, FL, on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the age 74.

A proud alumnus of Gainesville High School, Class of 1969, Danny honorably served his nation in the United States Navy from 1969 to 1971. Following his distinguished military service, he dedicated three decades of his career as an engineering technician with the Gainesville-Alachua County Department of Transportation, contributing significantly to his community.

Upon his retirement, Danny embraced the tranquil life in McIntosh, Florida, located in Marion County. There, he became a beloved figure, renowned for his generous spirit and culinary skills, frequently preparing his cherished barbecue for local events and community gatherings, bringing joy to many.

Beyond his professional and community endeavors, Danny possessed a deep appreciation for the arts and technology. He was an avid listener of Tom Petty's extensive musical catalog, keenly followed advancements in audio technology, and found solace and expression in playing his guitar.

Above all, Danny treasured his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, commitment, and community spirit, which is deeply cherished by his children, Brian Standridge and Nicole Standridge, and his extended family. They are profoundly grateful for the indelible mark he left on their lives.
