On Friday, February 21, 2025, Darleen Ruth (Oehlerking) Mueller of Orlando, FL, formerly of Plant City and Brandon, FL; Ramsey, Flemington and Cranbury, NJ and Elwood, Brookfield and Cicero, IL passed away at the age of 98 years, just 18 days shy of her 99th birthday.
Darleen was the devoted wife and caregiver of Harry David Mueller, (Navy veteran) for 49 years who preceded her in death in 1996. Also preceding her were her parents, Harry and Katherine Oehlerking; brother, Harold Oehlerking; sister, Beatrice (Oehlerking) Dittman; and nephews, Robert Dittman and Robert Chalupnik.
Awesome mother of Darlynn (David) Stevens, Shar, William (Karin); grandmotherof Michael Stevens, Kathryn Wilson (Michael), John Stevens (Kimberly), Aimee Mueller, Timothy Mueller (Kristen); great-grandmother of Spencer Wilson, Brody Wilson, Maverick Wilson, Teagan Stevens and Rylan Mueller. She is also survived by her sister, Valerie Chalupnik; nieces, Donna Preston (Cary) and Laura Eix (Thomas); nephews, Steven Chalupnik (Cindy) and David Chalupnik (Melanie).
Darleen's life can be best remembered by the following: Hosting Family & Friends at Dinners & Parties, Dancing, Playing Games & Cards, Sewing, Crafting, Cooking, Baking and Travelling! In her almost 99 years with us she experienced an abundance of each. Very special to her were the lasting friendships with her fellow "Burnhamettes", a self-named group of over 20 classmates who all attended Burham Elementary School in Cicero, IL in the 1930's.
The family is grateful for the loving care and devotion from caregivers both at home, at Somerby-Lake Nona Lilac Trace memory care and from Cornerstone Hospice.
