Obituary

Darleen Andrea Vasconez (nee Danielson), a life long Corporate Travel Account Manager, from Chicago Illinois, died Friday, May 16 th 2025, after a battle with cancer.  Darleen, "Dar", passed away comfortably and peacefully in Port Charlotte, FL. surrounded by her family. Darleen is survived by her 3 sons, Jason [Tracey] Vasconez, Anthony [Colleen] Vasconez, Adam [Katie] Vasconez, and her 2 sisters Lora Philp and Lynn [Tony] Posejpal, along with her niece Jamie Laage.

Darleen was born in Chicago IL on September 22 nd 1953 to William "Bill" and Patricia "Pat" Danielson. She graduated from Maine West Township High School in 1971. Shortly after, Darleen pursued her passion of becoming a Travel Consultant and starting a family.  Her adventurous spirit and career took her to 4 continents and more than a lifetime of travel memories.  Some of her favorite adventures were Paris, Innisbruck, Kuala Lumpur, Juneau, and her many travels here in the US.

Darleen was a beautiful woman who always shared her fun-loving spirit in any gathering.  Her beauty and kindness were only matched by her fierce independence and self-reliance. Darleen was a proud and devoted grandmother of Tyler [Hope] Vasconez , Noah Vasconez, Emma Vasconez, Kaila Vasconez, "Little" Anthony Vasconez, and Kaden Vasconez and a great grandmother to the next generation.

Darleen enjoyed her retirement in Port Charlotte FL near her parents and sister. She was proud of the life she built in retirement caring for her home and her "favorite son", Cooper, an enthusiastic and well trained Bernedoodle.  Her and Cooper traveled coast to coast together in her RV visiting family and friends in her last few years.  Cooper's new home will be in Sacramento CA with her son Anthony and his two canines, Oswald and Eva.

Her sons will be conducting a private Celebration of Life for family and friends on her birthday September 22 nd in Gloucester MA, a favorite family summer vacation spot where her grandmother Lora Farrell resided.

Darleen will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
