Obituary

David "Dave" Adams, esteemed veteran, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, concluded his earthly journey in the comfort of his home, surrounded by nurses and his devoted wife after a very long illness last month. A man of profound decency, compassion, and fidelity, Dave's spirit was woven into the tapestry of his enduring relationships with wife, friends and family, and his treasured dogs, Holly and Shiloh. Born in the west, Dave grew up alongside his sisters, two of whom he has now joined in eternal rest. The Adams family patriarch leaves a void in the hearts of his beloved wife, Barb, his sons, Chris and Will and their spouses, grandchildren, sisters and brothers in law, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. An alumnus of Langley High School, Dave extended his academic pursuits at Walla Walla College. His vocational journey led him to a distinguished tenure as an electrical maintenance supervisor in the field of aluminum can manufacturing, where his acumen and guidance earned him much respect. Dave's valor was exemplified through his service in the US Navy, bravely serving his country as a submariner. A devout congregant of the Christian church, Dave's beliefs were the compass by which he navigated his life's path. His passions ranged from the thrill of snow skiing and motorcycle rides on his Harley to the familial joy of RV camping, the invigorating challenge of road biking, and playing golf each an expression of his zest for life's adventures. Dave was a man of serene presence, always embodying peace and calm in every situation. His loyalty was unwavering, a steadfast friend and partner who stood by those he loved through all of life's challenges. His dedication knew no bounds, whether it was to his work, his family, or his principles. Faithful to his core, he lived with an integrity that inspired all who knew him, consistently putting others before himself and remaining true to his word and commitments. His life was a testament to the power of quiet strength and enduring devotion. He remained humble, positive and grateful even through his long illness. He taught us the true meaning of grace in the face of adversity, showing that even when everything else is taken away, love and kindness can endure and his deep love for all animals remained steadfast, their presence brought him comfort and joy reminding us that the core of his gentle heart remained. The Baldwin Brothers of The Villages have been entrusted with the solemn duty of supporting the family during this period of mourning. In remembrance of Dave's life and spirit, a memorial service with military honors will be conducted on September 12th at 10:30 a.m. at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. The family kindly asks that in lieu of floral tributes, donations be directed to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, a cause near to Dave's heart by going online to: BestFriends.org/donate
