David Gordon Bolema, 83, made his transition on December 22nd, 2017 at the Halifax Health Hospice Ormond Beach Care Center. His wife, Pattie, daughter Kathy Drake and step-daughter Kathy Crankshaw were by his side. Dave, the youngest of six children was born on May 17, 1934 in Muskegon, Michigan to parents Jacob and Bertha Bolema. He graduated from Western Michigan Christian High School and later married his first wife, Jean Sternburgh. They had three children, David Bolema Junior, Kathy Drake and Michael Bolema. In his youth he excelled in all sports including baseball, football and basketball. He owned and operated a building/real estate business in Muskegon. In 1979 he married Patricia (Pattie) Lorenz and gained three more children, Kathy Crankshaw, David Lorenz and Arnold Lorenz. After a move to Naples, Florida, he and Pattie managed a condominium high-rise for 25-years. Upon retirement, they moved to Ormond Beach. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grand children. Dave will be greatly missed by his entire family. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, January 6th, 2018 at 11AM at Unity Church of Daytona Beach, 908 Ridgewood Avenue, Holly Hill 32117. A reception will immediately follow the service.
