Aviary Recreation Center
1:00 - 3:00 pm (Eastern time)
David Wayne Davis, born November 14, 1954, in Norfolk, Virginia, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026, in The Villages, Florida, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 71 years old.
David was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a man whose heart was larger than life. His faith in the Lord was strong and never waivered through his challanging battle with glioblastoma. He loved his wife deeply, cherished his family, and lived every day with a selflessness that defined him. Those who knew David will remember his generosity, his loyalty, and the quiet strength he carried with him always.
A gifted auto mechanic, David could fix anything: cars, appliances, lawn equipment and sometimes even the impossible if there was a loved one or neighbor in need. His hands were steady, his mind endlessly curious, and his passion for understanding how things worked never faded. Cars and planes were among his greatest lifelong interests, and he found joy in sharing that passion with anyone who would listen.
David found joy in the simple pleasures that made life full. He loved playing his Xbox, savoring a glass of Crown Royal, and smoking meat on his Traeger. He enjoyed days on the golf course especially celebrating his two remarkable hole-in-ones in 2026. He could often be found watching the History Channel, talking about cars, or turning up the volume to rock out to his favorite music artists.
David is survived by his loving wife, Karen Davis; his children, Albert (Flora) Blaisdell, Ned Blaisdell, and Clifton (LeeAnne) Blaisdell; and his grandchildren, Adin Blaisdell, Emily Stevahn, Amanda Stevahn, and Hannah Stevahn. He cherished his sister-in-law Debbie (Paul) Springer for making it possible to be a part of his beloved family. He is also remembered with love by extended family, friends, and all whose lives were blessed by knowing him.
Family and friends will remember David for his enormous heart, his unwavering devotion, and the way he made everyone feel seen, supported, and valued. His presence was a gift, and his absence will be felt deeply.
Celebration of Life A celebration of David’s life will be held on May 30, 2026 at Aviary Recreation Center, 5748 Morse Blvd. from 1:00-3:00 p.m. to honor his memory and the love he shared with those around him. A second celebration will be held in Virginia at a later date to be determined.
In Lieu of Flowers The family welcomes donations to the Glioblastoma Research Organization, supporting research and awareness in David’s honor.
